What do a new graphics card, family dinner, and volleyball have in common? It’s all part of the hustle in my latest vlog! From upgrading my PC to catching up with family, this day was packed with productivity and fun. Catch all the action in the full vlog!
Kicking Off the Week: Office Time and Volleyball Plans
The week started strong with a productive Monday. “Good morning!” I greeted the day, ready to dive into work. After a productive week last week, I was feeling good about what was ahead. The plan? A full day at the office, followed by some evening volleyball to unwind.
But this week also held something special—helping my brother-in-law finish up work on his house. They’ve been building it for nearly two years, and it’s almost done! I’m excited to lend a hand tomorrow and see the finished product.
A Quick Lunch Run to Micro Center: Graphics Card Upgrade
At lunchtime, I took a quick trip to Micro Center. The reason? I finally decided to upgrade my PC. I’ve been dealing with some graphics card issues lately, so I picked up the 4070 TI Super. My current card, the 2080 Super, had been acting up, and I figured it was time for an upgrade.
The funny part? My gaming laptop is still holding up well, but I’ve been having issues with my desktop, and it seems like the graphics card is the culprit. So, I grabbed the 4070 TI and planned to install it later that evening. Once I get my new SSD drive tomorrow, I’ll be reinstalling Windows 11 and doing a complete system refresh.
Upgrading the PC: Let the Fun Begin!

Later that evening, I finally got the graphics card installed. “We’re upgrading, yo!” I said as I powered up the machine to test it out. Everything seemed to be working well, but I quickly realized I’d need to redo my entire cable management setup. Not exactly what I wanted to spend the evening doing!
Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough black zip ties, so I’ll need to make a trip to the store tomorrow. But for now, the graphics card is installed, and the system is running smoothly. I even managed to clean the computer with some compressed air—fun fact: I’ve been shaking the can wrong this whole time. Who knew?
A Visit to the Parents: Dinner and a Chat
Before diving into the rest of the upgrade, I made a quick stop at my parents’ house. I ended up having dinner with them and chatting for a bit longer than expected, but it was nice to catch up. Homemade food? Totally worth it. But, it did push my schedule back a bit, and by the time I got back home, it was already late.
Wrapping Up the Day: Computer Running Smoothly and Time for Bed
After returning home, I finished installing the new graphics card and getting everything reassembled. By the time the computer was back up and running, it was almost midnight. “At least we got it done,” I said, looking forward to testing it out tomorrow.
I still have to clean the office, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. It’s been a long day, but a productive one nonetheless. Now it’s time to rest and get ready for the rest of the week.
