Some days, you find yourself deep in thought, reflecting on life and its challenges, while other days, you’re unboxing exciting new tech gear. This vlog captures both sides of that coin as I go through the ups and downs of my day.

Morning Thoughts: Balancing Life’s Ups and Downs

The day started like most others, driving to the office. The sun made it almost impossible to see out of my mirrors, and I was thankful for those blind spot indicators. It was one of those mornings when you’re left thinking about the bigger picture—about life, about the people you’re missing, and the relationships that seem harder to fix.

I couldn’t help but reflect on my weekend with Tanner, which, as always, left me feeling fulfilled but a little sad that it was over. “Never did get a response from Becca this weekend,” I mused. It’s tough to not hear back, but what can you do? You just keep moving forward, especially when you’ve got a son and daughter to think about. It’s moments like this that make you feel like you could have done more—but at the same time, you realize we’re all just human, trying to figure it out as we go.

The Struggles of Perfectionism

As I drove, the thoughts kept coming. “Am I too hard on myself?” I wondered. Half of me wishes things could go back to the way they were, but the other half knows I deserve someone who treats me better. It’s hard to balance those feelings, but at the end of the day, I know I’ve accomplished a lot in life. From skydiving to travels like Ireland, I’ve done things many people dream of, and yet, sometimes it still doesn’t feel like enough. That’s the struggle with perfectionism—it never lets you feel fully content.

A Shift in the Day: Focusing on Health and Fitness

As the day went on, things started to look up. I managed to squeeze in a jog during lunch—something I’ve been trying to get back into. It wasn’t perfect, but I ran for about 60 seconds before my foot started acting up. Funny how something as simple as jogging can remind you of old injuries. I joked about the time I went to Ireland and got a cramp in the same spot—just a reminder that the body has its limits.

I’ve been testing out these new barefoot running shoes. They change the way you run, making you more mindful of your impact with each step. It’s been a good challenge so far, and I think they’re strengthening my feet. A work in progress, just like everything else.

Quality Time with Tanner: Making Choices and Having Fun

The best part of the day was picking up Tanner for some father-son time. “What do you want to do tonight?” I asked him, leaving the evening’s plans up to him. We had a few options—McDonald’s, maybe a trip to the mall, or just playing video games. Tanner’s response? He wasn’t too hungry because he’d apparently eaten “one billion pieces of food” earlier. Kids say the funniest things.

It’s moments like these that make everything worthwhile. We goofed around, debated what to eat, and shared laughs about our old times together. He’s growing up so fast, and I cherish every second I get with him.

Unboxing Some New Gear: Let’s Talk Tech

Later in the day, I unboxed some exciting new tech. I’ve been trying out these Go V smart light bulbs, which Tanner loves because of all the different colors. But the real excitement came with the arrival of the Boom XD Pro Lavalier Kit. These are smaller, lighter, and more affordable than my usual DJI mics, and I was pumped to give them a try. “They look dope, man!” I said, feeling pretty good about the unboxing experience.

The tech world is always moving fast, and I’m excited to see how this gear holds up during my livestreams and content creation. These microphones could be game-changers for my VR setup, especially with Bluetooth compatibility.
