Hey everyone,

Welcome back to another weekly update on my vlog! This week has been all about preparing for the new year, setting goals, spending quality time with family, and overcoming some unexpected challenges. Let’s dive into the details!

Happy New Year!

What’s going on, guys? Happy New Year! 2023 is finally over—thank goodness. It was one of the toughest years I’ve ever had, with one thing after another. But now, it’s 2024, and I’m optimistic about the year ahead.

Using the Day Off Productively

I had the day off work for the holiday, so I used it to prepare for getting back to work and review my goals for 2024. I had already set my goals, but I took the time to go through them one last time to ensure everything is ready for my new routines. I’m super excited for my content plans this year—I really feel like I’m hitting a groove and my personality is coming out more in my content. Big plans are in store, and I can’t wait to see how they unfold.

Lunch with Family

My mom mentioned that her dad was coming into town for lunch, so I went over to my parents’ house to join them. It was nice to spend some quality time with family, especially on New Year’s Day. After lunch, I headed to my sister’s house for my nephew Anthony’s birthday. We had cake and ice cream, and it was great to celebrate with everyone.

Dealing with Sickness

Unfortunately, the new year also brought some sickness. I woke up feeling pretty rough, congested, and generally under the weather. Despite that, I pushed through and got some work done. Taking a warm shower helped clear up some of the congestion, and I tried to stay active with a walk and some bodyweight exercises.

Fun with Tanner

Tanner and I had a blast together, even with me feeling under the weather. We played games, went grocery shopping, and had some good food. Watching him enjoy his McDonald’s while I had Chipotle was a fun moment. It’s always great to spend quality time with him, even when things aren’t perfect.

Reflecting on New Habits

Starting new habits is always a challenge, especially when you’re not feeling your best. I had planned to start a new bedtime routine in 2024, aiming to wind down at 10:00 PM, do my evening reflections, and get up at 6:00 AM. While I haven’t quite nailed it yet, I’m making progress. The key is not to beat yourself up—celebrate the little wins and keep moving in the right direction.

Final Thoughts

Despite the rough start with sickness, I’m determined to make 2024 a great year. I’m setting new goals, planning exciting content, and focusing on personal growth. Remember, it’s all about progression. You can be your own worst critic or your biggest cheerleader—the choice is yours.
