Hey MTG fans, Derek here! You know the drill: another day, another Collector Booster opening, another wallet-draining experience.

This time, I’m diving into Innistrad Remastered, a set packed with horror, nostalgia, and serious chase cards. These packs aren’t cheap—we’re talking $34.99 per pack—so the question is:

👉 Did I pull something insane, or am I about to regret my life choices?

Why Innistrad Remastered Collector Boosters?

If you’re going to crack packs, why not go all-in on Collector Boosters?

Sure, Play Boosters exist, but Collector Boosters take things to another level. You’re not just opening a pack—you’re taking a high-stakes gamble for:

🔥 Retro-frame reprints of classic cards
🎭 Foil-etched and borderless movie-poster treatments
🩸 Legendary vampires like Edgar Markov
💎 Ultra-rare serialized cards (only 500 exist!)

Basically, if you’re a fan of awesome-looking cards, big-money hits, or pure chaos, Collector Boosters are where it’s at.

The Chase Cards—What Was I Hoping For?

Every set has its big-ticket cards, and Innistrad Remastered has some absolute monsters.

The main target? Edgar Markov.

There are three versions of him in this set, and pulling any one of them can cover the cost of a pack (or more if it’s foil).

But if I couldn’t land Edgar, I was also hoping for:

Avacyn, Angel of Hope – This angel is Commander royalty, and her borderless art is stunning.
💀 The Meathook Massacre – One of the most powerful black enchantments in the game.
👁 Emrakul, the Promised End – An Eldrazi titan that makes opponents cry.
🎭 Snapcaster Mage – If you play blue, you already know how good this is.
🔢 Serialized cards – If I pulled one of these, I’d probably just retire.

Alright, let’s see how my luck played out…

First Pack: FOIL Edgar Markov & The Meathook Massacre!

I ripped into the first pack, my heart already racing—and BOOM.

🔥 FOIL Edgar Markov.

Seriously, I lost my mind. Not only is this card one of the most valuable in the set, but it’s just ridiculously cool-looking. This isn’t even the retro-frame version—which actually goes for less—this was the big hit.

But then things got even crazier—because a few cards later, The Meathook Massacre appeared.

At this point, I was speechless. Two massive hits in the same pack? That’s the kind of luck that makes you think, maybe I should buy a lottery ticket too.

Second & Third Packs: Cool Artwork, But No Heavy Hitters

After that insane first pack, I was hoping to keep the momentum going.

But, well… reality kicked in.

My second and third packs were more about the vibes than the value:

  • Rooftop StormInsanely cool artwork, but not a huge-money card.
  • Griselbrand – Solid card, but its price has dropped.
  • Some gorgeous showcase cards – Fun, but no Edgar-level hits.

This is why Collector Boosters are a gamble—one pack makes you feel like a genius, and the next? Well… at least the cards look nice.

Fourth Pack: Ulamog, the Promised End!

Just as I was starting to doubt my luck, the fourth pack delivered a gem.

💀 Ulamog, the Promised End – One of the best cards in the set and an absolute monster in-game.

This Eldrazi titan is a $24 card, so while it wasn’t another Edgar-level hit, it was still a solid pull.

Also grabbed:
Heartless Summoning (Full Art) – A unique enchantment that can power up some wild strategies.

I was feeling good again—but could I end on a high note?

Last Pack Magic?

Going into my final pack, I was praying for another Edgar… or at least an Avacyn.

Instead… nothing.

Okay, not literally nothing, but no big-money hits. Just some cool showcase cards and a couple of solid playable rares.

Not the dream ending, but hey—that first pack made it all worth it.
